Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into marketing for tech? Were there any important events or people that helped you choose this path?

I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Business, majoring in Marketing Management. Over the past eight years, I’ve immersed myself in the dynamic field of marketing. My journey began within marketing agencies, giving me invaluable experiences collaborating with diverse businesses across both B2C and B2B sectors. After six and a half years in the agency realm, I felt compelled to channel my expertise into a singular company, seeking a deeper integration and impact. This led me to discover alwaysAI, a pioneering B2B tech firm specializing in Vision AI. Recognizing the untapped potential and myriad opportunities to enhance market presence and drive lead generation, I eagerly joined their team.

Given the specificity of Vision AI, our approach revolves around building awareness and explaining its practical benefits for enterprises. Education plays a pivotal role in this process, as we set out to showcase the power of Vision AI and its profound impact on operational efficiency and the bottom line.

Before engaging in sales conversations, our priority lies in raising awareness, providing education, and showcasing tangible impacts. If you could change one thing about digital marketing, what would it be and why? How do you think this change could improve strategies, processes, or outcomes for the industry?

I’m fascinated by the dynamic nature of marketing, where agility is key to staying relevant amidst evolving societal trends and changing audience preferences. However, this constant flux also presents new challenges that demand innovative solutions.

I strongly believe in fostering a culture of collaboration among marketing teams across companies, even among competitors. Ultimately, our shared goal is to deliver the best solutions to our customers. By working together and sharing insights, we can collectively enhance the market landscape, benefiting everyone involved.

I envision a community where marketers are more open to sharing what strategies have proven successful in engaging their audiences. In today’s marketing landscape, there’s a growing disillusionment with traditional sales tactics. Consumers are weary of being bombarded with ads and promotions that lack authenticity and value. The prevalence of cheap, ineffective products flooding the market has further eroded trust in businesses.

As a result, consumers are becoming more discerning, taking matters into their own hands by conducting thorough research to find the right solutions for their needs. It falls upon businesses to ensure that they are visible during this research phase, providing audiences with the information they need to make informed decisions.

Marketers bear the responsibility of facilitating this process by offering transparent access to relevant information. By empowering consumers with the tools to identify top players in their respective fields, marketers can foster trust and credibility, ultimately building stronger relationships with their audience.

Reflecting on your journey in digital marketing, what is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned that you would pass on to someone just starting out in this field?

The most significant insight I’ve gained in my marketing journey is the fallibility of assumptions. I’ve learned to embrace a cycle of hypothesis, testing, and adaptation continuously. It’s important to recognize that the landscape of marketing is in a constant state of flux, shaped by evolving audience preferences and societal shifts.

A crucial aspect of navigating this ever-changing terrain is diligent documentation of testing procedures and results. Staying on top of trends is equally essential; the notion that seniority equates to superior knowledge is a fallacy. Those who remain entrenched in outdated practices risk becoming obsolete in the face of rapid market evolution.

By actively engaging with market dynamics and remaining adaptable, one can glean invaluable insights from the market itself, guiding the path to success. Keeping pace with change ensures relevance and resilience, empowering marketers to thrive in an ever-shifting landscape.

In your opinion, what’s the best book in the world:

This is a tough question to answer! I can speak to a book I think everyone should read, which is “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. This book provides practical strategies for creating and maintaining new habits over the long term. While there are multiple lessons to take away, one that resonated with me the most is the idea of implementing a reward system.

Rewarding yourself after completing a task can be a powerful motivator for sustained habit formation. By associating a pleasurable activity with the completion of a task, you create positive reinforcement that encourages continued engagement. For instance, completing household chores could be followed by indulging in an episode of your favorite TV show, effectively giving yourself something to look forward to after a mundane task.
